VIETNAM NATIONAL MATCHPLAY CHAMPIONSHIP 2011THE MONTGOMERIE LINKS, QUANG NAM PROVINCE The Montgomerie Links is very proud to announce that they will be hosting the Vietnam National Matchplay Championships in the end of December. This year there will be an exciting new round robin stage format - minimum 3 x matches played per person, no qualifying round. This is the third time a Vietnam Golf Association National Tournament has been held on the central coast of Vietnam and is a regular fixture on the Vietnamese Golf Association calendar.
Note: There will be some member and guest tee time restrictions through this tournament so to avoid disappointment, please ensure you make your reservations well in advance.

The 2nd Annual Montgomerie Links Club ChampionshipThe 2nd Annual Montgomerie Links Club Championship will be held over the weekend of the 13th and 14th August providing opportunites for our members to become the "Club Champion". The format is designed to give all players an equal chance of winning one of our many prizes, with both a Gross champion - who will be the club champion golfer for 2011 - Net champion, plus divisional prizes. This tournament is traditionally the most popular event at all golf courses throughout Vietnam and will create a lot of interest, It's a 2 days - 36 hole event though individual daily prizes are waiting for golfers. Colin Montgomerie Junior Challenge TournamentColin Montgomerie, the eight time European Tour Order of Merit winner and victorious 2010 European Ryder Cup Captain, has launched his very own Colin Montgomerie Junior Challenge, furthering his commitment to the development of golf in Vietnam and Asia at The Montgomerie Links Vietnam. The Coin Montgomerie designed championship course, voted the best golf course in Vietnam in 2010 by Asian Golf Monthly and Vietnam Golf magazines, will play host to Colin's inaugural junior event on 21-22 July Under the vision of Colin Montgomerie, IMG and The Montgomerie Links, the Colin Montgomerie Junior Challenge is destined to prosper into one of Asia's premier and most sought after junior titles. Colin Montgomerie said, "I am very pleased that The Montgomerie Links will host the inaugural Colin Montgomerie Junior Challenge in July. Junior golfers are the future of the game and to be able to stage such an event in a developing golf country such as Vietnam is a very exciting prospect. I am very grateful for the support of both the Vietnam Golf Association and The Montgomerie Links" Officially sanctioned by the Vietnam Golf Association and open to all juniors 17 years or age and under with an official golf handicap, this event will provide the necessary platform in which to continue the growth of golf in this passionate sporting nation from a grass roots level. Currently there are only a handful of Vietnamese golfers participating on the Asian Tour although some are already showing signs of promise. Getting the necessary experience in tournament play will allow Vietnam to one day proudly develop a national hero in the same fashion as K.J Choi in Korea and Thongchai Jaidee in Thailand. . "The Colin Montgomerie Junior Challenge will encourage all Vietnamese juniors to further enhance their skills in a competitive tournament environment further developing talented golfers for the future of golf in Vietnam." Vietnam national matchplay championship 2010 the Montgomerie Links, Quang Nam province December 01- 05, 2010The Montgomerie Links is very proud to announce that they will be hosting the Vietnam National Matchplay Championships in early December. This is the second time a Vietnam Golf Association National Tournament has been held on the central coast of Vietnam. This tournament is a regular fixture on the Vietnamese Golf Association calendar. The championship is an open event and will include the following entry categories: - Vietnam Lady OPEN National Match Play Championship: Vietnamese and Foreigner Female Amateur Golfers. Handicap 24 or better - Vietnam Senior Match Play Championship: Vietnamese Male Amateur Golfers, age 50 to 59. Handicap 13 or better. - Vietnam “Super Seniors” Match Play Championship: Vietnamese Male Amateur Golfers, age 60 or above. Handicap 18 or better. - Vietnam National Match Play Championship: Vietnamese Male Professional and Amateur golfer with handicap 8 or better. - Vietnam OPEN National Match Play Championship: International PGA members, GTF coaches and expatriate amateurs living in Vietnam with a handicap of 9 or better. - Vietnam “International” Match Play Championship: International amateurs residing or working in Vietnam or hold a Vietnam golf club membership with a handicap of 12 or better. Entry forms are available from the Vietnam Golf Association or The Montgomerie Links reception counter for any of our members and frequent guests who wish to enter this major event.
