Member Mr Le Ngoc Tu scores an Albatross on the Par 5, 6th Hole

On Friday October 1st The Montgomerie Links had another first - an albatross! For those of you who don't know, an albatross (also known as a double eagle) involves scoring a hole in one on a par 4 hole, or scoring a two on a par 5 hole. The albatross is MUCH rarer than scoring a hole in one, with odds for the average golfer quoted at 1 million to 1, as opposed to 13,000 to 1 for a hole in one.
Le Ngoc Tu, an MLV member, was out playing his usual game when he arrived at the 6th hole blue tee with his two playing partners. After hitting a huge drive down the hill, leaving himself 150 yards to the pin, his caddie passed him his 8-iron and he proceeded to hit the perfect shot over the water, landing a few feet short and rolling into the hole - leading to some celebration!
This follows an incredible few weeks for Tu, who has recently returned from representing Vietnam in the Asian Final of the Mercedes Trophy and has also qualified to represent Vietnam, along with his partner, in the IPairs final to be held in Scotland in October.
